Introduction: The 2024 Hybrid Corvette E-Ray has officially been revealed by Chevrolet, and is set to be available to buyers later in 2023.

    I. Power and Performance – A single motor capable of 160 horsepower and 125 lb.ft of torque powers the front wheels via a 1.9 kWh battery pack which is located centrally in the car between the seats. The LT2 V8’s 495-hp/470 lb.ft of torque, when combined with the electric motor, makes a combined 655 horsepower. Chevrolet claims the E-Ray is the quickest production Corvette in history, with a 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 10.5 seconds @ 130 mph. E-Ray Coupe has a dry weight of 3,744 pounds and the Convertible is 3,856 pounds. Standard options include Brembo’s Carbon Ceramic brake system, Magnetic Ride Control, and Michelin’s Pilot Sport all-season tires.

II. Stealth Mode – Stealth Mode allows for all-electric driving at a maximum speed of 45 mph. Designed for quietly leaving the neighborhood.

III. E-Ray Performance App – Chevy provides new data points for the driver on the dash cluster and a special E-Ray Performance App that runs on the infotainment screen. Provides the driver with all the details ranging from dynamic power output from the electric motor and the V8, a graph of power/torque, and monitoring electrical performance and efficiency.

IV. Design – The E-Ray shares the Z06’s widebody design that is 3.6 inches wider overall than the Stingray. Available only in body color trim. The front electric motor that resides over the front axle is compact, preserving space in the front storage compartment. E-Rays will have their own specific staggered 20/21-inch forged aluminum wheels in four distinct finishes.

    V. Price – The starting MSRP is $105K

The All New 2024 Hybrid Corvette E-Ray

The new Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray is a powerful and advanced vehicle that boasts impressive performance numbers. Chevrolet claims that it is the quickest production Corvette in history, with a top speed of 1.1g on the skid pad. This is thanks to its all-wheel-drive system, which provides electric assist tailored to each of the Corvette’s six Driver Modes (Tour, Sport, Track, Weather, My Mode, and Z-Mode). Drivers can also select the Charge+ feature to maximize the battery’s state of charge.

The eAWD system monitors road conditions and adapts to provide traction. In spirited driving or low traction environments, it provides additional power to the front wheels for enhanced stability. On the race track, it provides additional torque to the front axle as needed. The E-Ray’s custom-designed Performance Traction Management (PTM) is also optimized to work in harmony with the eAWD system.

The E-Ray also features a Stealth Mode, which enables all-electric driving before the engine turns on for normal driving. This allows you to drive at a maximum speed of 45 mph on electric-only power and is designed for quietly leaving the neighborhood. Once the E-Ray’s battery pack is depleted, or you exceed 45 mph, the LT2 V8 motor will automatically turn on.

In addition to its advanced propulsion system, the E-Ray also provides a number of new data points to the driver on the dash cluster and a special E-Ray Performance App that runs on the infotainment screen. The app provides detailed information on dynamic power output from the electric motor and the V8, as well as a graph of power/torque and monitoring of electrical performance and efficiency.

The E-Ray has a widebody design that is 3.6 inches wider overall than the Stingray and is available only in body color trim. The front electric motor that resides over the front axle is compact, preserving space in the front storage compartment. Standard options include Brembo’s Carbon Ceramic brake system and Magnetic Ride Control, which offer optimal braking performance and three distinct suspension settings, respectively. Michelin’s Pilot Sport all-season tires are also standard equipment, with the option to upgrade to the Pilot Sport 4S summer performance tires as part of the ZER Performance Package.

The E-Ray, Chevrolet’s newest version of the Corvette, will feature specific 20/21-inch forged aluminum wheels in four different finishes. The option to upgrade to carbon fiber wheels, previously seen on the Z06 model, will also be available with a Performance Package. Additionally, visible carbon fiber ground effects can be added as an option.

    The 2024 Hybrid Corvette Colors

The first E-Ray buyers will have a choice of 14 exterior colors, including three new hues for the 2024 model year: Riptide Blue, Seawolf Gray, and Cacti. A new interior option called Artemis offers deep green tones on nearly every surface and is exclusive to the 2024 model year. Other options include an exclusive Electric Blue body stripe and the option to choose Bright or Black E-Ray badges. The E-Ray also features a modified Stingray badge on its rear deck, which is said to be a nod to the Stingray’s LT2 V8 engine.

This 2024 edition’s exhaust tips have been a source of confusion, but Chevrolet has revealed that both the standard bright LT2 exhaust tips and black tips will be available. The new model also includes several advanced driver assistance technologies, such as Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, and Following Distance Indicator. These features are in addition to the current safety features available on Level 2 and 3 trim packages, which include Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Park Assist.

This beauty will go on sale in 2023 with a starting MSRP of $105K for the 1LZ Coupe and will be produced at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky. The exact release date has not been specified, but it was previously stated to be “available in the summer of 2023.”
