Corvette is a famous brand of sports cars, produced by GM’s Chevrolet division since 1953 and named after the World War II aircraft, the P-51 Mustang (which was also produced by GM). Since that time, Corvette has become one of the most popular sports car models in history, and it’s ranked as America’s most iconic muscle car. However, Corvettes have never been cheap—top-of-the-line models can cost millions of dollars! Here are 10 of the most expensive Corvettes ever produced.

    1. 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88 Coupe – $3.85 million

According to Hagerty Insurance, the 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88 Coupe is the most expensive Corvette ever built. This car has a 427 cubic inch engine which can go from 0-60 in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 205 miles per hour. The 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88 Coupe was originally built for racing but was never used for that purpose due to newer models coming out soon after it was built.

    2. 1967 Chevy Corvette L88 Corvette Convertible – $3.4 Million

This 1967 Chevy Corvette L88 Corvette Convertible is the 2nd most expensive Corvette ever sold. It was first shown at the 1967 New York Auto Show to rave reviews, and it is one of the rarest models ever made. This car has a 427-cubic inch engine that produces 425 horsepower and goes from 0 to 60 in 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 175 miles per hour.

    3. 1967 Chevy Corvette L88 Corvette Convertible – $3.2 Million

This 1967 Chevy Corvette L88 Corvette Convertible is one of the most expensive corvettes in history. It’s also one of only three ever made. The car has a 427 ci engine with 4-speed manual transmission. Its horsepower ranges from 550 to 600 and it can go from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds.
It was purchased for $3.2 million by an anonymous buyer, who later sold it for $4 million to a collector.

    4. 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C8 – $3 million

    2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C8
Chevrolet’s new 2020 Corvette Stingray is an all-new, eighth generation of the famous sports car. This particular model has a starting price tag that is just under $3 million. The 2020 Corvette C8 has a 6.2L V8 engine with 650 horsepower at 6,400 RPM and 650 lb-ft torque at 4,400 RPM. It can get up to 60 mph in 3 seconds and have a top speed of 190 mph.

    5. 1969 Chevy Corvette Rebel Convertible Race Car – $2.86 million

This 1969 Chevy Corvette Rebel Convertible Race Car is the fifth most expensive Corvette ever sold. This vintage racer has an all-aluminum body and a powerful 400-horsepower engine. The car also features a TREMEC 5-speed manual transmission, 4-wheel disc brakes and two fuel tanks, each with a capacity of 22 gallons.

    6. 1967 Chevy Corvette L88 Corvette Convertible – $1.8 Million

One of the most expensive corvettes in the world is a 1967 Chevy Corvette L88 Convertible. The car sold for $1,8 million at an auction in Monterey. What makes it so expensive? Well for starters, there are only four examples of this type of vehicle left in existence. Add to that the fact that this one was one of only three with a convertible top and you have yourself one high priced machine! And while this may not be as expensive as some other cars on our list, it’s still worth mentioning considering how rare they are and how much people paid just to get their hands on them.

    7. 1963 Corvette ‘Rondine’ – $1.76 Million

1963 Corvette ‘Rondine’ – $1.76 Million The 1963 Corvette ‘Rondine’ is the seventh most expensive Corvette in the world and is one-of-a-kind, making it a collectible that cannot be duplicated. Built by hand with a one-off chassis by noted Ferrari and Maserati racer, Scaglietti in Italy, this beautiful car features a four-camshaft engine and independent front suspension.

    8. 1969 Chevy Corvette ZL-1 – $1.4 Million

At the time it was one of the most expensive cars ever sold. It is number eight on our list because it sold for $1.4 million in 2008. This Corvette is powered by a 427-cubic inch engine with 425 horsepower and goes 0-60 mph in 5 seconds.

    9. 1953 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible – $660,000

This 1953 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible was the first year for this iconic model and it is one of only six known to exist. It was originally owned by Dr. Wilbur Ross, who bought it at an auction in 1993. He sold it at auction in 2007, with a pre-auction estimate of $650,000 – $850,000.

    10. 1969 Corvette L88 Convertible – $577,500

This 1969 Corvette L88 Convertible is the tenth most expensive Corvette on the list, coming in at $577,500. It has a 427 cubic inch V8 engine with 390 horsepower and 480 foot-pounds of torque. With this model, buyers could order as many engines as they wanted up to 7.0 liters; however, there was no automatic transmission offered on the L88 Convertibles.
